Welcome to Michigan Atheists, a non-profit organization dedicated to defending and promoting secular values across our great state. We are 1^st Amendment Advocates who believe in a Michigan where government policies are based on reason, science, and equality, not religious doctrine. Our Mission

At Michigan Atheists, our mission is to protect the separation of church and state, uphold the First Amendment Rights of all citizens, and promote policies that reflect our shared values of equality, freedom, and justice. We work to ensure that Michigan's laws and policies are inclusive and secular, respecting the diverse beliefs and non-beliefs of all its residents.

Key Issues We Advocate For

• Separation of Church & State: Defending the 1^st Amendment and protecting citizens from unjust religious pressure to convert and obey their unsubstantiated ideologies/doctrines.
• Defending Reproductive Rights: Ensuring that decisions about reproductive health are based on science and individual choice, not religious beliefs, between a patient and their doctor.
• Promoting Secular Education: Advocating for a public education system free from religious influence, where all students receive a fact-based (not Alternative Fact-Based), comprehensive education.
• Protecting LGBTQ+ Rights: Supporting policies that protect the rights and dignity of LGBTQ+ individuals, free from religious hatred and discrimination.
• Advancing Scientific Integrity: Championing the use of evidence-based science in public policy, particularly in areas such as climate change, healthcare, and education.
